I am glad that I've always been able to have a very united class. Ever since Pri School to secondary school to diploma and even my advance diploma. And from this year onwards, 25 may have been marked for all 42 of us as our gathering day.

Friday was our last day of school. And it was the worst day of the 8 months. Everyone was so reluctant to end the course as we have make ourselves too comfortable with everyone around us 5/7 over the past 8 months. We struggled through all the thick and thin in school, and none of us wants this day to come.

I am proud with the things that I've contributed to my Geron. With the slides that was shown during the research seminar, made scrapbook for Mdm Kumari and Ms Kang, and i have also created a montage for the whole class that was played on Friday and teared the whole class. Last but not least, organizing a BBQ party at east coast park after our last day of school.

I am really touched by how united 42 of us were. I've never encounter such teamwork in my life and im grateful my i have now. The day that everyone of us teared so badly. This feeling is hard to be described. The heart drop feeling of departing with the members who was once so united. Photos were taken without the fingers leaving the shutter. All we want is as many photos as possible, to remember what we all have been through. (And now my FB wall is flooded with geronies photos.. :) )

From the start of the course, I've created a FB group for the geronies and it's now gonna be there forever. Well I hope FB will not close down like Friendster, so that geronies will keep going on and on. Photos will be up on my next post. Promised, and I'll keep my promise.

Mummy preferred practical stuff. She never like to receive flowers on her special day. And I often needs to brainstorm on what to buy for her. I was surprised when we saw that she still keep the handmade card that we made for her when we were as young as 5 years old. Very touching.

This mother's day, I decided to give her something much more practical and useful. And with what she received, I saw the wide grin of appreciation. Mom was happy with the design of her new gold Buddha necklace, which was something very valuable for her.

She told me, 'I want to wear this everyday. Just like my kids are always with me.'

So I told her, 'Just like I'm always wearing the silver Key that you gave me on my 21st. Ever since, though I'm no longer 21 years old, I still want to keep wearing it...'

I love my momsie.. :)

although the management in peacehaven nursing home gave us all the bad impression, that residence are the ones who made my day.

it's my last day attaching at peacehaven, and it was raining heavily in the noon. I saw her massaging her arms due to rheumatism. I went to sat beside her and started to massage for her. she turned and looked at me, with the widest smile on her face, with the watery eyes.

she stretched out her arm and started massaging my arm too... it was the kind of bonding that we were having and I wished I could freeZe this very moment. it was just a short 20mins, I know she appreciated my care feeding her during her meals time, fetching her back to bed and accompany her keeping her clean.

when I'm leaving the ward, she shook my hand, and kiss my hand goodbye. for the very moment, tear rolls down my cheek. this is the very reason why I took gerontology. elderly makes me smile, giving them the extra care, understanding them makes them happy, and in return I'm happy for them too...

After so much of complains about school, and making lots of comment about how dread it will be to go back to working life, I guess I just have to adjust to changes. BUT let me continue to whine... (it's a form of ventilation!!)

I called back to ward yesterday because the ward posting for advance diploma is out. I was eager and worried to know where I will be posted to and decided to ring up ah phuah. To my horror, I will be posted to a ward that I have never imagine myself to be in. It definitely makes working life even more dreadful when I comes to think of it.

For every area that I am posted to, I never mind the work load. Yes, maybe I'll complain about how busy it will be and how things are not going smoothly. BUT I have never imagine myself into a ward that will be politic. Well, I have not start working in that ward yet, so I should not jump into conclusion. But friends who are/ were from that ward are struggling and with negative comments.

I'm gonna be a service nurse. I'm gonna be posted to the ward neighbor to used-to-be-my isolation ward. Yup, I'm posted to the paying class ward-ward 78. (kill me stat..!) I'm gg to an A-class ward and it's not what I like at ALL. I won't get to see the elderly that I've seen these 8 months. I won't get to do things that I'll be happy doing. Maybe I need to adapt, and my adaptation skills sucks.. So let's see how I'm gonna die in that ward.

Actually one thing I like about 78 is that they are multi-discipline. Personally preferred working in multidiscipline area. So I'll get to see many different things. Well, will I survive my 2 year bond in w78? or will I surrender and pay my bond and leave sgh for good?

let's see...

PS: I'm having my twin sister with me to w78. I hope we both will survive through, going through all thick and thin w her... all the best, mizah..

I was attached to 'Home Nursing Foundation' for this week, and today is the last day... It's been an enjoyable posting where we get to visit different home. SN Chua is posted to Woodlands, Sembawang and Yishun, and for the past 4days, these are the places we've been roaming. I get to see cases, different wound dressing to be done. Basically when patient discharge back home, and they cannot manage on their own, they refer to HNF. So the HNF nurses will help with certain task every week.

Mizah and I really experienced the tough ship of being a HNF nurse. Besides the miles we walked to find houses, the amount of workload a day is not little. We will routinely help SN chua to carry her bags of equipment and even helped her with those complex cases. Getting some hands-on and it can be fun. We also get to assess the living condition of the pt, see if pt is able to get any subsidy from AIC. Indeed an eye opener for us.
