28 April 2011

I love them.
And it can be quite difficult for all six of us to request off on the same day for a gathering like this.
I love every of our meet ups.
I love their presence.
Because with these people around,
I not only learn better while I work,
I also have fun and felt less stress when working.

When we felt troubled,
we turned to each other to spout out those annoying happenings.

Wherever I go,
I'll remember this group of girls,
who have once came into my life and brightens it up.

P.S: And hopefully 6Princess will go back to 7Princess again..!
And we will have our full Royal Family.

• Beyond - 海闊天空•
24 April 2011

This cantonese song is in the 70s,80s, by the famous HongKong RockBand back then.
This is one of their song that really gave me lots of goosebumps when listening.
Goodness goosebumps.
I <3 this song.
For those who heard this song before,
second with me.
This is a affective song...

Beyond: 海闊天空

If I din remember wrongly,
this song was written after aa member pass away in an accident.
Losing one member in the group.
An affective song...

• clashes•

Suddenly right before my upcoming annual leave,
everything seems all clashed together.
And I wished I had 30hrs a day,
to fulfill every single event that's about to happen.

After working straight 5days,
with 3 being straight morning shift,
my body, easpecially my left shoulder, is falling apart.
Today is my 6th day.
And I'm glad I'm going for Training leave tomorrow.
A day away from work.
I am scheduled for 'Asthma Management Training'.
No competency needed.
Totally greatness.
I am able to receive plenty opportunity for trainings to advance myself.

So my training leave clashed with my Podiatrist appt,
and now I don't have a date for the next review.
No way my manager is getting replacement for the training,
and I'm left with no choice but to reschedule my appt.

Date with my princess on wednesday,
has been clashed with the changes of my off days.
And I can't seem to fulfill all the events.

It's less than 5days to my trip.
Freaking excited about it.
Coming weekend, I'll be heading to M'sia.
And following Tuesday will be bangkok.
Can't wait for all those trips.

And I am slowly drifting my mood at work to HOLIDAY MOOD... :)

• MACROS like macarons•
20 April 2011

It was my first time using Canon.
With the huge model: 60D.
It just seems like Nikon D3s.
Anyway thanks to Desmond who gimme the opportunity to archieve my own macro shots.
Though all the settings were set nicely for me.
Because I really don't know how to manage Canon.

Anyways, it was a nice experience.
And I'm planning to get my first lens,
a Macro 60mm lens. 1:1 ratio if possible.

So these were my shots, with his camera.

There were shots of MBS, Esplanade, Fullerton.
All up in FB.

I know where I stand in learning photography.
Guess I really need to get those theories in my coconut before knowing how beautiful image can be produce.
:)

• Post Night. New week.•
17 April 2011

Finally completed my night shift. More income it shows. (Yayness).

Off for the next two day. And my off days gonna be occupied.

Tomorrow appointment for both my toes, and for my gastric. It's been a week and I'm happy that those
swelling toes are subsided. I've been very professional in changing the dressing every single day. Before I went for shower today, peel off the dressing and realised NO MORE DISCHARGES. I literally smailed to myself upon seeing that. For the first time, there isn't anything coming out from the wound. And it shows that the wound has dried up. I'm happy with all that. Though my nails look weird, look kinda out of shape, I know in future, they will give me trouble no more. (happiness). I'm glad they are recovering, and well taken care of. Can't wait to see what the Podiatrist will say tomorrow.

After my podiatry appointment, I'll be having appointment with Dr Thia at 3pm, for my gastric. I'm glad my MC rate has reduced much, thanks to the well controlled gastric problems. I guess tomorrow will be my last TCU with Dr Thia and afterall, case close. I supposed lah.. Doubt so he will arrange another appointment for me to follow up with him, I guess.

On Tuesday, I shall continue lesson 2 for my driving. Can't wait to get the driving done man. Seriously can't wait to hold my own driving license. But I know it's still far for me.

For the two off days, I'm going round to snap snap. I wanna use my every free time to learn something more, experience and try out something different. This week's target: potraits.

I have never tried out Potrait shots and never understand how to make them nice. Basically, I failed to try out Portraits. I have not try it at all, and I guess it's time for me to explore into it.

I'm all for it. There goes my off days. Doing things I love, and enjoys.

:))

• next leap for my passion•

This passion of mine, has brought me to a next level right now.

Through imagines of what others have shot, I was given motivation. Through words of thoughts, I was given the move to carry on. I know photography has been getting ‘popular’ these days, but it has never stopped me from moving on further. The more the better isn’t it? Not looking it in a competitive way, or rather, look it at just plain hobby will do. Don’t see it as some commercial way, but just something when you do, it makes you feels happy, and that’s it.

At last I met someone who has the knowledge and care to share the doubts in me. Though he started photography one month before me, though he uses Canon, he knows much more, more than how much I should. I have come to realize I can’t learn photography alone, all by myself. I know by the end of the day, I’ll not be there.

Seeing the photos I captured, has really been quite depressing. He made the photos I want. The effect, the details, the WOW effect. I was impressed. Glad I made the move to add him in facebook, and there comes endless sharing session. After a whole night of sharing, I felt as if I just started photography for less than a month. But I’m never giving up.

Boy said that his dad ever told him, ‘In life, there isn’t a need to run, neither should you walk slowly taking your sweet time. Do brisk walking, towards where you are heading to. When you brisk walk, you are able to observe and learn what’s around you, along the way. If you run towards your future, you might missed out a lot on the process.’ Something powerful to me.

Though I felt slow in learning this new gadgets right here, I guess I’m gonna be doing it at my own pace. No need to rush, not like I’m facing exam by the end of the day. I believe it’s broad for me to learn. A lot of things to learn, to practice, to experience, to observe. Nothing comes easy right from the start.

And I will make this come true one day. Definitely will. Who am I? Fill with determination Anna. 

P.S: Thanks Desmond for those skills and sharing ideas. More to go, and thanks for making it not something I’m doing all by myself. You came in all useful. Thanks!!

• Happy Couple•
14 April 2011

Yesterday was one of those happiest moment in my life.

Early morning, I started my day at BBDC and have my first driving lesson. After going through all the theories, I finally made my first move towards driving a real car. It was quite a nervous yet exciting feeling. Best thing was, I get a nice instructor, who has been understanding to keep my nervousness low. I managed to, on my first lesson, make a car moveee.. Like what Xiaxue (the blogstar) said when she first started learning how to drive, 'It's the first time I made a real car move, I'm so excited to finish up the whole course and get my license!!' Well, exact felt words. Now I understands that sentence.

So this was my car yesterday...

An old pok-pok Honda City. According to the instructor, I'm supposed to get Honda Jazz, but due to a shortage of car, on my first day, I learnt a car that I'm not supposed to be driving. (-__-")
Anyways, I can't wait for my next lesson to come. And it's time to be super observant when I drive. Like really super observant...

After my lesson, I travelled my way to 'Little Guilin' for some snappy session. (refer to the next post.)
Went back home for some nap before I went to PSB to await for my boy. Yesterday was his last exam of the course. I believe those stressness has finally come to a STOP! And as a reward for his hardwork, I have planned a date for both of us...

Due to busy-ness, both of us have not been having our personal time for each other. Creating yesterday's date came in at the right time for both of us. Having the suspense of where I'll be bringing him to, makes moments better. I brought him to 'Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ' at West Coast, to taste and experience the real Korea dishes. I love the food, the environment, and believe he loved it too.

Heading back to town after dinner, when we sat down and explore his new collection of board games.

Everything that happen yesterday was good. Nothing bad. A day where everything went off so smooth and peaceful. Filled with freedom and commitment. Be it the driving lesson, the photography session or our secret dates. Things went smooth and I simply love the way it was. At last I see my boy stress no more. With confidence that diploma will be in his hand within months. Though he just gotten a Diploma this year, I'm never worried about how future will be. I believe things are supposed to work out by two parties. When one falls, the other will support and be there.

With him, I learnt how to manage relationships between couples. Though sometimes I neglected my family, I have since trying out to balance both sides. Maybe I'm not yet good at it, I know I'm trying to be there...

• Little Guilin•

Feeling quite disappointed with blogspot that there's limits to the photo size to be uploaded here.
Totally screwed the way I wanted to post the photos up here.
Now, I'm out of no choice.
My photos memories are out of space.
Manage to combine those shots with the help of 'Photoscape'.
And well, photos aren't big and individual.
Sigh.. Dislikes!!

Anyway, I went ahead with Little Guilin at Batok.
I have eventually forget about this beautiful place,
until one day I cab down somewhere,
and the cab driver drove pass this place,
which urge me to visit this nature once again.

Well, photos aren't big.
For actual photo size,
again, view my FB.

Heard this song, and totally loving it. Those affective lyrics...

What are words by Chris Medina...

• belated birthday•

To Mr. Christopher koh a.k.a GuoYang.

A last minute celebration for this friend.
Due to my mishap, celebration took place at Boy's house.
Because I can hardly walk long distance.
So Alan, Weixiang and birthday boy,
made their way to the kopitiam behind boy's house,
eating zi-cha as a show of celebration.

Back to boy's house,
where we sing the birthday song and photosnapping took place.

Everything was so last minute,
but at least we were there.

Happy Belated to Mr Canon-supporter,
hope you can get a suitable girlfriend soon..
wahahahaha..

• my passion is moving on...•
08 April 2011

Have been looking into photography course 2 months back.
And have been spreading words to friends of mine who shared the same passion as I do.
Was browsing some local photography course in the web,
and narrowed down to this two:

(Whoever is interested in photography and is keen in learning basic photography, do browse in to these webby. It doesn't matter if you are carrying digital camera or a Digital SLR.)

I guess I'm giving free advertising to them. (haha...)
Anyway I've gotten 2 of my Princesses to join me in Phocus.
And I seriously can't wait for that day to come.
I always wanted to get into learning the real photography,
besides having myself all alone to snap snap all the time.

And I believe,

'Keep the passion strong, keep the passion going. When you know what you are doing is what you really enjoy, even how tough it can be, you know you will go all the way...'

• first come bitter, then to sweetness•

Having so much trouble just to get my nail surgery done. I used the chance when I was admitted last december, to get a referral to see the Podiatrist, after Manfred told me Podiatrist treat 'in-growth nails' too. Everytime he sees me at the ward, he'll ask if the nail surgery is done, and 3 days back I saw him, and there he asked me the same question again.

I told him how hard it was to get my appointment. And he always claimed that he can do it for me at ward level if there's an empty bed.. What a joke! So anyway, after seeing Mark, my podiatrist, for the first time, the in grown nails were removed by myself due to those unbearable pain that it has produced. And the surgery was unable to be done because there isn't a MEMO stating whether there was a need for the surgery. And I have to make the appt once the in grown nail is out.

So 3 weeks ago, my nails are giving me trouble again. But the earliest appointment I could get is 3 weeks later, which is today. Today, Mark review my nails again, and finally I signed the consent for 'Nail surgery to the lateral first toe of both feet.'

Local analgesia was given. Another injection. Total of 3jabs in each big thumb and the pain makes me wanna scream vulgarities. The whole procedure took 45mins. Toes were dressed up with Algisite Ag, gauze and micropore. I was told to leave the dressing unchange till my next appointment on the coming Monday. So I supposed I'll need to wrap my feet with plastic bag to shower, just like what I did to my patient. Home bound for 3 straight days. And I guess I'm burning my weekend off to be a couch potato at home, and maybe with that, i finally have the time to stay home to accompany my sister.

Pain killers are my friends now. Because after the effect of analgesia fates off, I need to elevate my legs all the time. If I walk, blood flows down to my feet and there comes the pain. I'm hoping that no complications will happen, and resulting with pretty nails by the end of the session. Nails that will never give me anymore problems. Time to challenge with my pain tolerance. I'm suck at tolerating pain. This time it's gonna be a challenge...

I was browsing into people photos and I saw this inspiring photo in photoblog. I am hooked by the details of it, and seriously I just LOVE this photo. The power of Macro, let humans suddenly have microscopic eyes, and I wish one day I'll be able to produce such good workpiece like this...

I love this photo, really...

• Wound Care Seminar•
03 April 2011

Sorry by the poor quality of those photos. Had some taken using my DSLR but due to time constrained, I was unable to bring them up here.

Anyway, for the past two days, 7 of us used our off days to attend a Wound Seminar held by St Lukes Hospital at Holiday Inn- Tiong Bahru. Though there goes our off days, we brought back plenty of knowledge and seen many new products launched in Singapore. And most importantly, we got ourselves 6 CNE points.

St Lukes Hospital have been 'famous' in dealing their wounds, and this is already their 5th Seminar on wounds and all of us paid $150 to learn more from them. Speakers from Korea, Hong Kong, Aussie, be in nurses, or doctors, came to share those filling knowledge, and we've an eye-opener on wounds that pretty much seem impossible to be treatable.

In the current market, there are plenty of dressing materials available. And for us nurses, we obtain them for our patient to treat those massive wounds. But little did we realised about the costs, the family have to pay after the treatment. Furthermore, those wounds are really massive.

In this course, we learnt on how to get the right material, at times we do need to trial and error, because not all wound nature feeds into the material we get and also some turns out no effect on it. Then, there was this Aussie nurse, who shared with us her experienced back in the developing countries (like in South Africa), where these dressing materials are in fact, out of reach financially, for them. And it can be an insult using those expensive materials to treat them, as they might not be able to afford them by the end of the day. So what she used was things like vaseline, clean salt water and much cheaper medication to treat those wounds. And till now, she claimed she has never encouter any reaction or deterioration to the wound.

All I could say is, I salute her act. She has look into many factors, where materials and costs are not surfaced in developed countries, but has been a biggest factors affects the developing countries. Mending wound is really a piece of art. From controling the spreading of the white blood cells, to making whole flesh join together, to making the wound bed pink and clean, and using the materials to see everything close up and back to normal.

An inspiration course that makes me felt so useful in my ward area. The knowledge is pretty much helpful in making things easier for us. If there's Advance Diploma in wound care, believe me, I'll definitely sign up. :)

I'm glad i had the opportunity and glad that I have learnt a lot.
